Do you want an excellent mens haircut in 15-20 minutes? Go check out May’s. At first I was thrown off a little by the look of this place, but don’t be deceived. The hands down, no frills, best haircut that I’ve gotten in the Bay Area. It was fast and affordable. I was so satisfied that I tipped 100% and it was still more affordable then other shops in the area….. I almost feel bad giving away this little hidden gem but they deserve your business! And for all the folks who left bad reviews they were expecting $400 salon quality hair for $70…. That’s not on May’s
One of the worst haircuts of my life. I asked for medium cut but the lady was in so much rush that she used clippers and chopped down wherever she felt necessary. In five minutes I was left with uneven hair all over my head. I even showed her uneven and protruding hair but she replied that’s because of curly hair. What an excuse. Clearly she lacked the skills and patience with scissors. Will not recommend to anyone
I came here on a Sunday morning for a mens haircut. The lady who was there at the time gave me one of the worse haircuts I got. She didnt seem to care about the service she was providing. She was not unfriendly, but either didnt seem to have the skills or didnt pay attention. I would not go back here
It's dirty, bad smelling place (smell of wet brushed coloured hair with hint of burned hair due to using of hairdryer). Place looks shabby a d definitely not contemporary. BUT, there are always a least 2-3 people in line, waiting for haircut, often kids age 7 and up. Price for regular kids haircut is ridiculous - $10. They made it well enough, so I gave them 4 stars (but please, use sweeper after each client, setup ventilation system, put some good kids books, so kids will read instead of watching TV while waiting for their cuts).
The lady cutting my hair (Kristi) was in a terrible mood as soon as I sat in the chair. She ruined one side of my head and when I asked her to try to fix it she got even more irritated and purposely pressed harder in my head to jab the tip of the clippers. I don’t recommend getting a haircut from her. The terrible service and aggressive demeanor warranted this review.
Terrible service from Kristi. Aggressive with my husbands hair and gave him the worst hair cut of his life. Not the first time my family has had a bad experience from this place.

Middle aged asian man.. and I went there for perm service and haircut as usual. This is my first time here for perm as I moved. I don't remember the name of the stylist(I don't think she deserves this title though). It was not May, but some other lady with the name starting ""T".
Perm came out okay as usual. I did this for 30 years so I know. Just need to cut and trim the hair. I don't really know why but she blow dried the entire hair and straightened the hair. My head became twice the size, and it totally looked like some old lady with blowed up hair. I ended up spraying my hair and asked her to cut.
I don't cry because of this, but it was really upsetting for me. I don't think she's ready to cut someone's hair yet. Communication was pretty bad as well.
I am pretty sure other hair stylists in the hair shop are doing just fine, but this particular stylist definitely not ready. When hiring someone to the hair shop, they should check whether she's ready for the job. If one is not ready, at least check while she's doing the work.
The reason why I went there is simply because it's around the corner. Also I don't expect a high quality hair job. Just a simple and manageable hair cut.
I am not sure if I will go there again..
